The E-CONTRAIL project participated in AGU24, held from December 9–13, 2024, in Washington, D.C., where Ermioni Dimitropoulou, representing the Royal Meteorological Institute of Belgium, presented the poster "Radiative Forcing of Contrail Cirrus Clouds." Sharing the latest project results, her presentation sparked high interest among attendees, including scientists from diverse fields, highlighting E-CONTRAIL’s innovative strategies to address the climate impact of aviation.
With over 25,000 participants from 100+ countries, AGU (American Geophysical Union) annual meeting provided an ideal platform to showcase the E-CONTRAIL latest findings. The conference’s theme, “What’s Next for Science,” emphasized groundbreaking solutions, and Dimitropoulou’s presentation stood out, offering critical insights into the warming effects of aviation-induced contrail cirrus clouds and the solutions for climate action.
The warm reception of Dimitropoulou’s presentation reflects the importance of collaborative initiatives like this SESAR 3 JU-funded project in addressing the aviation industry's climate challenges. The feedback and connections established during AGU24 will support the project’s continued progress.
